Close-up of bluebells in a woodland, capturing a calm, slow moment in nature

Do you really need hours to be creative again?

A creative reset moment from the woods

I took my new camera into the woods this week. We had glorious April sunshine, so I was up for seeing and smelling those bluebells.

Not to get anything finished… just to have a bit of time to play.

And it reminded me of something about creativity that’s easy to forget.

It’s easy to think we need a full afternoon, a clear table, everything lined up.

But more often than not, it’s just a few quiet minutes that get things moving again.

The more often we get those moments, the easier it becomes, so forms a creative habit which we can fall into. There's the sweet spot. Life still goes on around that habit.

That’s the idea behind Patch-a-Day too. Nothing big. Nothing pressured. Just a small moment to show up.
