Flow, Colour and Calm — Helen Creasey’s New Pattern
You know I love a good secret sew — and Helen Creasey’s new Strata Flow pattern is the calm before a very colourful storm.

Every so often, a quilt design comes along that makes you stop and take a deep, happy breath. Helen Creasey’s brand new Strata Flow pattern is one of those.
Helen (of And Sew I) has only just released this gorgeous pattern, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you. I love how the shapes ripple and curve together, almost like fabric waves. It’s calm, clever, and just a little bit magical. The quilting in the black area is so effective too. I really like how she's used some white thread in amongst the black thread to make yet another feature to rest your eye on.
She’s kindly given me permission to use her image as a digital jigsaw inside the Patchwork Play membership, so if you’re thinking about being a part of our community, you’ll soon be able to piece it together in a whole new way. You'll definitely want to focus on the quilting to do that, to help you connect the pieces together.

And while I can’t spill all the beans just yet… let’s just say there’s something rather exciting in the pipeline for October 2026, and Helen might have a starring role. Carie from Bright Quilting in Llangollen is part of the team too. There's definitely team work here. It's brilliant!
In the meantime, go grab your Strata Flow pattern from Helen’s store and enjoy a little mindful sewing time of your own.
